Organisation and rules

                                                                                             

Organisation

 

  1. The Club will be managed directly by School employees appointed by the Bursar.
  2. The day-to-day running of the club will be delegated to the Club Manager who will in turn delegate supervisory responsibilities to a Club Supervisor.
  3. A quarterly Sports Club Report will be presented to the Board of Governors by the Bursar.
  4. Club membership will only be restricted by the maximum capacity as decided by the Club Manager.
  5. The Sports Club reserves the right to refuse an application for membership.
  6. Entry to the Sports Facility will only be allowed on the production of a valid membership card.

 

General Rules for Members

 

  1. Members must sign a copy of the rules of membership.
  2. Entry to the Sports Facility will only be allowed on the production of a valid membership card.
  3. Members are expected to behave with respect and consideration at all times. Members who bring guests will be responsible for the behaviour of their guests. Verbally or physically abusive behaviour will not be tolerated and will lead to an immediate cancellation of membership.
  4. Always comply with a direct request from a member of the club staff
  5. Fees must be paid by the due date. Members will not be allowed to use the facility once the membership has lapsed.
  6. Wilful or negligent damage to or vandalism of School property will result in disciplinary action (see below) taken against the member concerned.
  7. The Club is not liable for the loss or damage to property or for the loss of cash whilst on club premises. Members are advised to use the valuable lockers provided and to insure valuable items brought in to the Club.
  8. Lost membership cards will be replaced at a charge of £5.
  9. Only adult members may sign in guests. A member may sign in a maximum of three guests at any one time.
  10. The club reserves the right to refuse entry to any person as a guest at its sole discretion.  
  11. Appropriate sports clothing for the activity must be worn.
  12. All members must swipe their valid membership card at the reception desk before using the facilities.
  13. Children must use the same sex changing room after their 7th Birthday.
  14. The timetable for club opening times will generally be set a term in advance. In practice the Club will seek to keep as regular a routine as possible. However, the Club reserves the right to either extend or reduce opening times on a termly basis.
  15. There is a no smoking policy on any premises managed by the Club.
  16. Lost property will be stored at Reception. Any items must be signed for on return.

 

 

 General Health & Safety

 

1.      The Club may, at any time, withdraw all or part of a facility for any period or periods and with or without notice in connection with any cleaning, repair, alteration or maintenance work or for any reasons beyond their control.

2.      Members and guests are advised not to undertake strenuous physical activities if they have reservations as to their physical condition without seeking medical advice in advance.

3.      No crockery, glass or food are permitted in the changing rooms, badminton court or squash courts.

4.      No pets are permitted in the club buildings with the exception of registered guide dogs.

5.      In the event of a fire, members and their guests must use the nearest available exit following the direction of staff.

6.      The Club cannot accept any liability for injury to any member or guest that may occur on the premises or within the grounds of the Club, other than liability which may arise from the negligence of the Club or its staff.

7.      Please immediately report any accident to a member of the Club Staff who will ensure an accident report is completed.

8.      Please be aware of parking and speed restrictions around the Club site. Where space is available, the Heathfield School Car Park should be used.

9.      Please report any issues that might give rise to Health and Safety concerns to the Club Supervisor.

10. Unaccompanied Children under the age of 16 will not be permitted to use the facilities

 

Pool Rules

 

  1. If a member fails to obey an reasonable instruction from the lifeguard he / she will be asked to leave the facility and, depending on the incident, may have membership cancelled (see disciplinary rules).
  2. Whilst the pool will be open for the stated times it is possible that the safe capacity will occasionally be reached and that members attending for a swim will be asked to wait for space. In order to keep waiting to a minimum and to ensure fairness for all members, when members swipe in, the arrival time will be recorded. If the pool has reached capacity any members who have been in the pool more than an hour since swiping in will be asked to leave the pool itself to allow those waiting a chance to swim.
  3.  Outside footwear is not permitted on the pool side
  4. An adult swimmer must accompany children under the age of 6 years on a ratio of 1:2
  5. Access to the swimming areas is only by the designated routes
  6. No running, jumping or diving is allowed in the pool areas.
  7. For hygiene reasons please shower before using the pool.
  8. No inflatables, fins, masks or other equipment are permitted in the pool area other than those provided by the Club at designated times
  9. Appropriate swimwear must be worn
  10. Please ensure that all verucas are covered as these can easily spread in damp, wet conditions.

 

 

Squash / Badminton Rules

 

  1. Booking courts is done by calling the Club supervisor during Opening Hours or coming in to the Club. Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance. If less than 24 hours is given for cancellation the court charges must still be paid.
  2. Members that regularly cancel courts may have their booking privileges suspended for 14 days at a time at the discretion of the Club Manager.
  3. Only non-marking footwear appropriate to squash, badminton or tennis is allowed on the courts.
  4. No training vests or bra tops should be worn on the racquet courts
  5. If playing squash doubles appropriate eye-wear must be worn

 

 

 

 

 

 

Disciplinary Action

 

Rishworth School Sports Club reserves the right to cancel a members’ subscription if found to be in breach of the rules. The member will receive a pro-rata refund of fees less any amounts that may be due for damage or facility charges incurred.
